In order to live a healthy, rich and abundant life you need to look at what you're putting into your body to add vitality to your energy system. Examine whether you're injecting life-force or detracting from it each time you consume a meal.
Food is a drug, since it changes the biochemistry and hormonal balance of your body. Our immune systems are struggling to cope with the high levels of toxins, chemicals, preservatives, colours, additives and sprays that go into the production of food.
The food pyramid is no longer applicable in our times. The Food Pyramid has not kept up with scientific nutritional research. The original food pyramid made a number of claims supporting its food list, such as, all fats are bad; all complex carbohydrates are good; protein is protein; dairy products are essential; potatoes are good for you; and there was no recommendation for exercise.
Look at the types and quality of foods you consume at present. Food creates health and nourishes the cells - such as those packed with minerals and vitamins. Alternatively food can be a drug and cause disease and ill health if consumed regularly and in quantities. So if food is a drug, what drugs are you choosing to allow into your body?

The digestive system is the first line of defence in your body, since it serves to assimilate and process incoming food matter which is formed into energy. When our digestive system is working in harmony and balance, our entire body is renewed with an energetic life force and sustained health. Lower abdominal bloating

Headaches after eating
Cravings for certain foods i.e. bread, chocolate, other
Like most things, certain foods did not serve a place in my life anymore. My suggestion is to strike a balance of eating healthy to support your energy requirements, health and wellbeing. Identify stressors which are causing your body harm. A natural health professional can assist you with this. Refrain from eating foods which irritate your gut. The long term damage to the gut lining is irreparable and not worth the short term pleasure.
Drink plenty of natural spring water sourced from an artisan well, where possible. Eat at least 80% organic foods which are free from pesticides and are labelled accordingly.
Develop a relationship with your body. Listen to your body's internal signals (known as interoception). The body speaks in soft, quiet whispers.

I really need some tips for healthy living. Perhaps it's not JUST the food I eat. I've got the food and nutrition part covered, being a former Executive Chef at a large hospital, but I wonder what other tips for healthy living I can incorporate into my daily lifestyle. While I may be an expert on cooking, I'm not an expert on all the other elements that go into a healthy lifestyle.
Ben is a triathlete, former body builder, and health and nutrition expert. Ben and Jessa are a great couple, because she has helped further simplify all the things Ben has learned into a comprehensive plan for creating a healthier life, lifestyle, and smarter children. Yes, healthier and smarter children through controlling your environment. The healthy lifestyle expert husband and wife team gave me some great suggestions during this video phone call, and even offered an opportunity to join the Ben Greenfield Fitness Inner Circle to get even more information and support.
Since I've been feeling a bit sluggish and irritable lately, Ben's first suggestion was to examine HOW my body is using the food that I'm supplying to it. He says I might be eating healthy foods, but not enough variety of food to supply essential vitamins that my body needs. Ben says that Vitamin B is essential to the way the human body metabolizes fat. Ben spoke about omega-3 and omega-6 elements in food and cooking oils like he was reciting his ABC's. Greater research is needed on my part.
Jessa advised that I use coconut oil in my cooking, as this has the right type of Omega's my body may need. It never dawned on me that my household environment could be contributing to my general health and energy level. "Clean with white vinegar instead of bleach" was another easily accomplished tip for healthy living from Jessa. Jessa also has great recipes for home made cleaning products and disinfectants that will save your household budget and reduce toxicity levels in your home.

As our time came to an end, I felt guilty because I "stole" so many great tips for healthy living from Ben and Jessa. Here are a few tips on nutrition for healthy living, and what you need to know to get it back into your life. Do you remember the food chart we were all shown in elementary school? Well that is one of the most important things you need to learn to get that healthy nutrition back. 2. Are you drinking enough water?
When we aren't hydrated we also get hunger pains leading us to eat unhealthy foods. 3. Do you take vitamins?
·         Even though we try to eat properly and give our bodies everything they need to stay healthy, most of us are still not getting enough vitamins and minerals. By learning what foods to incorporate together you will be able to get your daily intake of the vitamins and minerals that are missing from our daily lives. So nutrition for healthy living is really knowing your food chart and the foods you need to have to make this happen. As well as staying away from the bad foods, we don't need.
